THE STORY

Mertle Mae works as a truck dispatcher and supports herself, her dad, a bird and a blind cat. Her dad, a former NY Yankees player, wears his old uniform, lives in his own crazy twilight zone, and speaks to an imaginary Casey Stengel. When a young executive shows interest in her, Mertle's steady and predictable world unravels in funny and touching ways.
